Hi! I am Dr. Ja'nae Brown! At Physical Therapy San Pedro it is our mission to get our patients strong and healthy.

Most injuries are due to poor body mechanics, incorrect movement patterns, errors in training, lack of proper recovery, and over/under-training. Our team of experts will perform a thorough assessment of your injury and design a program specifically for you. Our program will transition you through a safe and healthy process back to the daily activities, sports and hobbies you would like to participate in. Sports Rehabilitation

Sports injuries are commonly caused by overuse, over training, direct impact, poor movement patterns or the application of force that is greater than the body part can structurally withstand. Common injuries requiring physical therapy include; sprains/strains, tendinopathies, joint/cartilage injuries, and injuries that require surgery.


Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussions occur in sport and with traumatic injuries such as falls and motor vehicle accidents. They can be a very scary thing if not managed properly.The key to Concussion Recovery is education & guidance. A thorough  Concussion Rehabilitation program includes support with symptom management, in addition to treatment for secondary impairments so you can return safely back to daily  activities and sports.

Orthopedic Injuries 

Orthopedic Injuries include any injury to the musculoskeletal system. Often, these injuries relating to the bones and joints are a result of an accident or trauma to the body. Common orthopedic injuries include dislocations, fractures, sprains, strains, ligament tears, meniscus tears, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff tears, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tennis elbow.

Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates has been shown to be beneficial in rehabilitation including treating sports injuries and improving over all sports performance. Pilates also trains the body to be more efficient and more balanced in movement. 

Amateur - Professional

Pro-Boxing Services 

Boxers have rigorous training 

program in preparation for their fights. Injury is common and 

management and support through a boxers camp can be highly 

beneficial for a Fighter's success.

We provide injury support through 

training in addition to a low 

intensity recovery program that includes Stretching, Pilates, Yoga, Mobility-Work, and Resistive Band-Work. We also provide Fight-Day Preparation as well to get Boxers feeling good before their fights.

Strength & Conditioning

Strength & Conditioning is extremely important in athletes. Improving strength with proper movement will prevent muscle imbalances and reduce risk of injury in sport. By improving strength you can enhance your health, fitness and sport performance. In addition, strength & conditioning helps players enjoy physical activity for a lifetime, enhances general health, improves postural stability, keeps bones healthy & strong, increases metabolism, improves balance and movement mechanics.

Injury Prevention 

Injuries can not be prevented but the risk of injury can be reduced significantly with injury risk reduction programs. Our program includes 

teaching our athletes proper warm up, activation and mobility techniques,strength & conditioning and recovery. When athletes are strong and they move well they are less at risk to get injured in game and match day situations. Athletes also need to know how to prepare their bodies for the tasks they are asking them to do in practice and games in addition to managing recovery, rest and nutrition.

Game Day Services

Injuries are inevitable when you play sports. Pre-game services should be focused on reducing injury risk while maximizing athletic performance. This includes a proper warm-up, prehab, and supportive taping techniques for game day. In addition, on the field experts who can respond to traumatic injury, including clearing Concussion and providing Emergency Response Services i.e.Basic First Aid & CPR are a necessity for Game/Match Day.

Return To Sport Training 

Traditional Physical Therapy is not enough when it comes to athletes. Our services include sports specific training and rehabilitation so our athletes are prepared to go back to the sport they were participating in safely. We ensure that our athletes can do every task that would need to be completed in sport and and we transition them back to sport through a graded process starting with sports specific drills and ending with full return to play while maintaining physiotherapy services.
