Owner/Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Ja’nae Brown, PT, DPT, is the owner and founder of Physical Therapy San Pedro, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. With a strong foundation in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and performance training, Dr. Brown earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise & Sports Science from the University of San Francisco and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2005. As a former high school basketball player, her passion for athletics sparked a lifelong interest in human movement, injury recovery, and optimizing athletic performance.
Dr. Brown specializes in sports rehabilitation and Return to Sport training, helping athletes recover confidently and perform at a higher level. She is a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) and Certified Concussion Specialist (CCMI), with additional certifications in Emergency Medical Response, ROCKTAPE and Pilates. She also serves on the medical team for USA Weightlifting and has extensive experience working with both team sport athletes and the weightlifting community.

She has provided injury support, rehabilitation, and performance services for numerous local teams and organizations, including FC Premier WPSL Women’s Soccer, HCE, PICK6 Flag Football SoCal, San Pedro Aces Volleyball, San Pedro High School, Mary Star High School athletics, San Pedro City Ballet and The Dance Factory, local ballet/dance organizations . Dr. Brown has been the PT for professional strongman Martins Licis for over five years and has provided medical and injury support for major strength events, including the Rogue Invitational, World’s Strongest Man, the Arnold Sports Festival and the Santa Monica Classic.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Brown is passionate about education and community outreach. She is the creator and host of the Physical Therapy San Pedro Podcast, where she shares insight on sports medicine, rehabilitation, performance, and entrepreneurship in healthcare. She has also hosted workshops, seminars, and community events focused on injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and athlete development.

Her mission is to empower patients and athletes to not only recover from injury, but to move well, perform confidently, and exceed their previous physical capabilities.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Brown enjoys staying active, traveling, and supporting her daughter, Journey Alana Brown, a collegiate swimmer at Willamette University. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, James Alan Brown, and their dog Jackson, while continuing to pursue personal and professional growth through new experiences and lifelong learning.

Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Maile Bay-Jacques graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology in 2006 followed by study at the University of Southern California where she graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree in 2009.
Dr. Bay enjoys helping patients increase their body awareness while also providing the necessary challenges to heal. She is an OCS, CSCS and specializes dance therapy, pilates, yoga & blood flow restriction training.
She is married and has a 2-year-old daughter and boxer dog. For fun, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, pilates, yoga, weight training, continuing to learn about the body, and dancing.

Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Silverton Nguyen graduated from University of California, San Diego as a Regent's Scholar with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology in 2007. He then earned a Masters in Physical Therapy at California State University, Long Beach in 2011 followed by a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in 2018.
He became a board-certified Orthopedic Specialist through the ABPTS in 2016 and uses advanced techniques and methods to assist his patients toward optimal function through corrective, adaptive, and prophylactic management of the neuromusculoskeletal system. He is also a Certified Movement Links Specialist and Certified Pain-Free Performance Specialist. He also teaches physical therapy students as adjunct faculty at CSU Long Beach and regularly mentors physical therapy students from across the country as a Certified Clinic Instructor.
When he is not delivering excellent care to our patients, he enjoys weightlifting, running, mountain biking, traveling with his wife, and playing with his son at parkour gyms.
